The Laramie Project- Theatre Task



The Laramie Project

The Laramie project is play. The Laramie project is done by Moises Kaufman. Moises Kaufman is a playwright and director, he is also the founder of Tectonic Theatre Project. The Laramie Project is also helped by people of the Tectonic Theatre Project. This play consists of a lot of interviews. These interviews are done by company members. This play is divided into 3 acts and in the play there are 8 characters but the portray more than 60 characters in short series.  

The Laramie project is performed to different audiences but it was first premiered at the Ricketson theatre by the Denver City CentreTheatre Company. It was first premiered in February 2000. Many of these performances that are taken in United States have been picketed by representatives of Fred Phelps like how it happened in real.

All these actors that have represented The Laramie Project have also represented other really big shows on television. 













The Laramie Project is also good for students at school. The project teaches and portrays to the audience about prejudice and tolerance in personal, social and health education. This play is also very strong and effective because it has shown everyone about efforts of combat homophobia. This really made many moves. 

The Laramie Project has had a huge success. It has been put up as a movie. The movie was taken out in March of 2002. (2 years after it was first premiered) On IMDb the movie has been rated 7.1 out of 10. 

In conclusion, The Laramie Project is based on the murder of Matthew Shepherd. This project has made a huge difference in peoples lives and is a huge project that is done by Moises Kaufman and Tectonic Theatre Project. The play was first premiered in 2000 but then was also made up in a movie in 2002. The project represents big actors that have been part of this huge project and other really big shows and projects.
