Self Evaluation

From my blog I think for criteria B I deserve a 6 out of 10. "The student is able to elaborate an idea, a theme or a personal interpretation to a point of realization. There is satisfactory expression and communication of artistic intentions. Skills and techniques are applied at a satisfactory level of proficiency. The student shows a satisfactory ability to apply the artistic processes involved in creating art." I think my work on my blog is satisfactory. I have set designs but they aren't anything very extra ordinary and that's why I gave myself a 6. Although, I think my set design was pretty good because it included all the things that should have been there from the script and I researched about how architecture was like from back in 1800's. I didn't understand the set design and I did it 3 times. When I did it for the first time I found it really hard because I wad doing this for the first time but I think my last and current one reaches a satisfactory level.

For criteria C I think I deserve a 4 out of 8. Although, I have most of my reflections and pieces of work they aren't very god and I think they only reach a satisfactory level. "The student reflects on his or her artistic development and processes. The student carries out a satisfactory evaluation of his or her work. Some aspects of the evaluation may be unrealistic or incomplete. The student attempts to use feedback in his or her artistic development and processes, with guidance." I think I reflect enough on my artistic development because for set design I have my first design and my last design. From the designs you can see a huge development and improvement.

Evaluation- Peer

I am evaluating Mifrah's blog. The link is- http://mifrahdrama.blogspot.com/2014/01/a-memory-of-lizzie-set-design-research.html

Mifrah's blog is very detailed with a lot of information. It is very clear that she's doing set design because she has a lot of pictures of different architectures and detailed information, for example about the architecture on the church, backyard and etc. She also has a very good annotated script. She has finished all task and all of them are completed.

For Criteria B I gave Mifrah a 9 out of 10. The criteria says to get a 9, "The student is able to elaborate an idea, a theme or a personal interpretation to a point of realization. There is evidence of purposeful expression and effective communication of artistic intentions. Skills and techniques are applied at a high level of proficiency. The student shows an excellent ability to apply the artistic processes involved in creating art."

I think Mifrah has showed evidence of purposeful express and effective communication of artistic intentions because she has talked about all the different architecture back in 1800's and why she has chosen to put that on the stage and etc. Because everything is so detailed the skills and techniques are applied at a high level.

Research- Stage Design

Stage Design

I have selected the proscenium stage for my set design. I have chosen this stage because it has a lot of space and the shape of the stage is very significant because you can put the things accordingly. This stage also allows the audience to see from every angle and it is also easy to hide everything that needs to be hidden backstage. I have selected this stage because of its space and it’s significance. The audience would enjoy viewing the performance on this stage because of how it is has been made and because it is enjoyable and easy to view.

Costume- Lizzie

Imagine citation: http://sanctaflora.files.wordpress.com/2010/09/lizziedress.jpg

I chose this costume because I thought it really suits Lizzie. It's also something that was wrong back in that time. This costume has also been worn at the Lizzie Borden plays before. This suits Lizzie because of the dark color, I think the dark color is good because it shows her personality and her personality was pretty dark in everyones eyes. She wasn't very much liked by her friends in the neighbourhood and of course by the world after the incident she pulled.

Annotated Script

 Props: -

  • Chopper
  • Bells
  • Candle

Annotating our script is very important in drama because after we annotate our scripts, it makes it clear for us to get an idea of how we want it. It also allows us to go very in depth with the script and let's us make it very dramatic like it should be. From the annotations, we can figure out how the set of the play will be, the positions of the characters, the props that are needed, all the music that is needed and etc.
